WHITIORA CROQUET CLUB
CLOSING DAY. On Saturday afternoon the official closing of the Whitiora Croquet Club for the season took place. Owing to the inclemency of the weather bridge and five-hundred were played in the pavilion. Mrs D. Andrews, president, welcomed the guests and thanked her committee and members for their hearty co-operation during the season, which had been a most successful one. She also congratulated Mrs Kibblewhite on her success as champion of champions and winner of the South Auckland championship. The club trophies were as follows: A champion, Mrs Kibblewhite; run-ner-up, Mrs Nesbit; B champion. Mrs King; runner-up, Mrs Martin; handicap singles, Mrs Kibblewhite; runnerup, Mrs Drube; A doubles, Mesdames Kibblewhite and Gall; A and B doubles. Mesdames Nis'bet and Martin. The winner of the bridge was Mrs Manning, and of the five-hundred Mrs Street. Those present were: —Mesdames D. Andrews.' Pinfold, Ibbotson, Aitken, Street, Harris, Johnston, Irvine. Nisbet, Nealie, Drube, Mercer. Buckland, Roberts, Revan, Reese, Wood, Morrison, Henderson, Webster, O’Brien Martin, Cliff, Ilodgkinson, Fow, King, Andrew, Gall, Turbott. __ Runciman, Russell, Manning, Locke, Kibblewhite, Misses Jones and Ibbotson.
