ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
LOCAL EXECUTIVE MEETING. The first meeting of the newlyelected executive of the South Auckland Association was held In the office ■of Messrs Bonds, Ltd. Mr Frank Mead was elected chairman for 1933 and expressed bis appreciation of the confidence of the executive In placing him in this important office. The following sub-committees were appointed: l —Ground, chairman and Mr G. Crabb; emergency, chairman, secretary and Messrs Baillie and Caldwell; selectors, Messrs J. Wallace, J. .Baillie and F. T. Mills.
Arrangements for the opening of the season 'On April 29 were finalised, the games being Wanderers v. Rotowaro, Thistle v. United, Glen Alton v. Pukemiro. Mr E. R. Marsh is the referee at Seddon Park.
The secretary reported that there was a possibility of a ipme with the Auckland representatives at Blandford Park on June 3; also that the Thames Valley Association requested a game at Morrinsville on that date. —It was deevided to ask the latter for a guarantee as to expenses. A letter was -read’from the New Zealand Football Association calling attention to Chatham Cup entries which-close on May 15, 1933. It was decided to send a letter of congratulation to .Mr D, Crabb upon his being chosen to tour with the New Zealand team in Australia.
The next meeting was fixed for Mf>y 1. at 7 p.m.
