FAILURE OF GOLD.

(To the Editor.) Sir,- —For the benefit of Mr Earle Vaile may I quote the following remarks made by Lord Bledisloe at the jubilee dinner of the. Napier Chamber of 'Commerce: “That the whole world shall he faced with bankruptcy and social upheaval through the unavailability cf the particular metal cho-sen, as a matter of convenience, by civilised people for facilitating commercial transactions among nations and individuals, is unthinkable and grotesque.” Are not Mr Vaile’-s lepgthy letters all rather tiresome and futile when men of the most conservative ideas and -orthodox traditions are waking up to the real cause of our troubles—the failure of gold and a faulty national accounting system?— I am, etc., CURRENCY REFORMER. Hamilton, April 22, 1933.
