Challenging the validity of the Royal Commission Act, officers of the three major oil companies refuse to produce information which is being requested by the Royal Commission on petrol prices. The inquiry was adjourned, the chairman of the Commission announcing that the next step would probably be the prosecution of one of the refusers, to test the point. SYDNEY, April 22.
It is understood here that the Federal Government will probably seoure the co-operation of the State Government, thus giving the Royal Commission the fullest powers of inquiry on all points except evidence concerning overseas questions.
