PRODUCE IN LONDON.

FALL IN BUTTER. MARKET QUIET. CHEESE ALSO DOWN. There was a fall of Is per cwt. In prices of New Zealand finest butter and white and coloured cheese during the final two days of business on the London market last week. Butter is now quoted at 66s to 67s per cwt. and cheese at 37s and 44s for white and coloured respectively. Both markets are -quiet. The latest advice of the market, received by Mr C. R. Spragg from Bannatyne and Company, Limited, Liverpool and London, under date April 22, states: “After sales, during the week of butter at 70s and white cheese at 39s and coloured at 45s to 465, the period ended with both markets weaker. Butter is now quoted at 665; cheese, white, 375; and coloured 445.”

Merchants have received the following cablegrams, dated April 21, from their London principals:— New Zealand Producers’ Co-opera-tive Marketing Association, Limited. —- Butter: New Zealand, 66s to 675; Danish, 98s. The New Zealand Dairy Produce Board has received the following market report from its London office dated April 21, previous week’s quotations in parenthesis:— Butter. —New Zealand: Salted, 66s to 68s (68s to 70s); unsalted, 66s to 70s (66s to 70s); 66s to 68s equals approximately 7Jd 'f.o.b.; first whey, 62s (645) ; second whey, 60s (625); deliveries New Zealand, 1433 tons; in store, New Zealand 7663 tons, includes 325 tons “ Canonesa ” and “ Akaroa.” Australian; Salted, 64s to 67s (65s to 68s) ; unsalted, 66s to 68s; deliveries, Australian, 2050 tons; in store, Australian, 5050 tons. WAIHOU STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report that at their Waihou stock sale a medium yarding of sheep came forward, late rates being maintained throughout. A medium yarding of cattle was penned, prices being firmer than last sale on store cows; fat cows sold at late rates. A very heavy yarding of fat and store pigs again came forward. All classes showed a decided decrease in values since last sale.
