PUBLIC SERVICE CUTS
APPLICATIONS FOR EXEMPTION. WELLINGTON. Tuesday. Applications for exemption from tho 5 per cent, out made in I lie salaries of the public service last year will be cleared up at an early date, according to a statement made by tho Prime Minister, Mr G. W. Forbes, when replying lo a question asked by Mr R. A. Wright (Government Wellington Suburbs) in the House of Representatives this afternoon. Mr Forbes mentioned that, the special hardship committee set. up to hear the applications had met last week.
