SUCCESSFUL STOCK SALES.

Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report— Otorohanga Sheep Fair.

At the annual sheep fair at Otorohanga there was an average yarding of sheep, which sold at late rates. Ouotations: Four and five-year ewes 7s 6d to 9s 8d for a good line from Mr W. R. Ilarty, Honikiwi; goodmouthed ewes os 9d to 7s, two-tooth ewes 9s Gd to 11s -id, four-tooth ewes 11s 9d, small two-tooth wethers 8s (id to 9s Bd, good forward lambs 7s 8s 4d, medium sorts 5s 9d to 7s, small 3s Gd to is lid. A full yarding of sheep came forward, hut very few outside buyers were present and a dull sale resulted, although vendors met the market and the bulk of the yarding was sold. Best l'our-year ewes brought 9s Gd to 10s lOd, others 7s Gd to 9s 3d, good five-year ewes to 8s 9d, other's Gs 4d to 7s 3d, sound-mouth ewes 5s -id to 6s Sd, old ewes 3s to -is 9d, medium wether lambs 5s 9d to 6s Bd, small 4s Gd to 5s Id. There was a good yarding, over 6000 sheep being penned. Many very nice lines came forward and practically everything was sold under the hammer. Buyers were present from Waikato, Oparau, Taranaki, and Otoro-. hanga, a good percentage of the yarding going to outside districts. The demand for young sheep was keen, good two-tooth owes from Messrs Goldfinch and Co. making up to lCs 7d, while four-year ewes from Mr K. McLean made top price at 11s. Quotations: Best four-year ewes 9s 8d to ITs lOd, others'Bs to 9s 6d, five-year ewes, good 7s 3d to Bs, others 6s 3d to 7s, good sound-mouth ewes 5s 9d to 7s, best two-tooth ewes 13s lid to 15s 7d, others 11s 6d to 13s Bd. Lambs sold readily, best mixed-sox lambs bringing 8s 6d to 9s lid, goodconditioned wether lambs, shorn 7s 3d to 8s Gd, medium lambs 6s to 7s Id, small 4s 3d to 5s 9d.
