THE “ OLD FOURTHS.”

SATURDAY’S REUNION.

APPEAL FOR SOUVENIRS. One of the most Interesting exhibits at the reunion of descendants of the old Fourth Walkatos to be held at Steele Park on Saturday afternoon will be portion of an old boat believed to be part of the first ferry across the river to Hamilton East. This relio of earlier days was found on the bed of the river when the dam was refilled at Arapuni about a year ago.

Early settlers and their descendants are urged to bring as many photographs, souvenirs and curios of early Waikato as possible for mutual Inspection. Every effort is being exerted to make Saturday’s function an outstanding success and one that will long be remembered by those present. During the afternoon selections will be played by the Waikato Regimental and Hamilton Municipal Band and a full programme of sports will be staged. The Mayor (Dr. F. D. Pinfold), and Mr J. R- Fow, a former Mayor, will be among the speakers. Mention has already been made of the Inter-family competition for which a handsome silver cup will be at stake.
