CRASH AVERTED.
PLANE’S FORCED LANDING. PILOT’S SKILFUL HANDLING, (Special to Times.) CAMBRIDGE, Wednesday. Skilful handling of his aeroplane by Air S. J. Blackmore, of Hamilton, averted what might have been a serious mishap early this morning. Mr Blackmore, who was accompanied by “Scotty" Fraser, the wellknown parachutist, and another passenger, was en route to Whakatane in the Desoutter monoplane “ Aoarangt," when at 7.30 a.m. the engine stalled owing a blockage in the benzine feed pipe, and the pilot had to make a forced landing at Whitehall, about eight miles from Cambridge. The plane was skilfully landed In a small paddock, without damage, and after repairs had been effected, Mr Blackmore cleverly took off again.
