Bennett’s advice to the House of Commons to-day, when discussing the resolution moved by Mr William Duff (Liberal) favouring reciprocal trade with the United States. Mr Roosevelt had expressed a desire to negotiate reciprocal agreements with other nations, and it would be premature for the Canadian Parliament to pass a resolution urging an agreement, said the Prime Minister. Any agreement would have to be for a stipulated number of years and not subject to abrupt termination by caprice on the part of any nation, Mr Bennett added.
