MAORI ON TRIAL.
ALLEGED CATTLE THEFT. DARGAVILE, Saturday. At the Police Court this morning Christopher Daniel McDonald, a Maori, appeared on a charge of stealing three beasts, two the property of A. V. Docherty, of Kaihu, and one the properj of George Marchant, of Maropiu. A number of witnesses were called and the case is expected to last day.
