ROTARY GOVERNOR.
MR T. C. LIST’S CAREER. The new District Governor of Rotary in New Zealand, Mr Thomas Currie List, proprietor of the Taranaki Daily News, was born in England in 1897 and came as an infant to New Zealand wit'll his parents. He received his newspaper training on the Petone Chronicle and New Zealand Times. In 1902 he jmrehased the Waimate Witness, and in 1906 the Taranaki Daily News, which he has since conducted. Mr List has taken an active part in the social and public life of the province. He has been chairman for many years of the Egmont National PfTrk Board and chairman of the YAV.C.A. Advisory Board. He Is president of the New Plymouth Rotary Club. He was a member of the New Zealand Press Delegation to the Imperial Pfess Conference In London in 1930, and was a director of the New Zealand Press Association and is also chairman of directors of several limited liability companies. Mr List was responsible for the public schoolboys’ immigration scheme, under which large numbers of English public schoolboys have been successfully settled in the Dominion. He has been a Justice of the Peace since 1907, and is th« author of “ The Briton at Home.”
