“BUSINESS FIRST.
BY HAMILTON PLAYREADERS. Should a man put business before his wife? This was the theme of A. A. Milne’s popular play “Adriadne,” or “Business First”; with which members of Ihe Hamilton Piayreaders Civil) concluded their 1932 season last evening. Few of Milne’s works provide such scope for character portrayals as docs “Business First.” All the players performed very creditably. A difficult part was well portrayed by Miss Phyllis Torpy, as Adriadne, the part being handled in an accomplished style. Mr J. F. Montague gave a spirited and -entertaining interpretation of the lawyer-husband. ■Much of the humour was infused through the person of Hector Chadwick, played by Mr J. H. Gittos. Mr G. S. Anchor was delightful as carefree ! Horace Meldrum, and other characters were well filled by Miss Roma Garratt, Miss Phyllis Langley, and Miss P. Gallagher. “Business First" was the final production of the club’s 1932 season, and following the presentation of the j play Mr Montague thanked the readers and members for their support. I
