INSULTING WORDS
USED TO FREE LABOURERS. MAN FINED £3. (Bv Telegraph.—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Wednesday. “ Waitara was an extremely unfortunate place in which to use the words,” said the Magistrate, Mr Tate, this morning, in fining Charles Te Wai £3, with costs 10s, for using insulting words to free labourers on November 24. A charge of using insulting words in McLean Street, Waitara, was also made against Thomas Henry Emcns, president of the Waitara Freezing Works Employees’ Union. A remand was asked for till December 8, and was granted.
