FOR THE CHILDREN.
HOLIDAY BY THE SEA. CAMP LEAGUE’S APPEAL. PUBLIC SUPPORT WANTED. A community service which needs no recommendation to the people of this district is the annual camp conducted by the Waikato Children’s Camp League for the children of needy parents. The annual holiday of two weeks at the League’s fine Port Waikato Camp has brought happiness and better health to hundreds of youngsters in the past few years. There are many children in this district who would derive inestimable benefit from a -holiday by the sea, and the League intends to send 200 of them to the camp again this year. To accomplish this worthy aim funds are required, and the League is appealing to the public for assistance in this direction. Already a number of offers have been received, but a considerable amount of labour and finance is needed to properly care for 200 youngsters, and as the League depends largely upon the public in carrying out its work it is hoped that the fullest support will he forthcoming. The camp has as its motto, “None may enter who can pay', none can pay who enter.” The League has received a letter from the Health Department saying: "You may be interested to know that the health stamp campaign has taken a hold in Invercargill, and the local organisation Is conducting a house-to-house sale of stamps. I also notice that they have adopted your motto.” Those who feel disposed to assist in any way may do so by communicating with Airs H. G. Ross, the secretary, or Mr W. H. Paul, the chairman, at the Winter Show office.
