LAST YEAR REVIEWED. THE OUTLOOK UNCERTAIN. lilted Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright. LONDON, Nov. 28. At the annual meeting of the Peninsular Shipping Company it was stated that after allowing £350,000 for depreciation of the fleet, £IIO,OOO for the debenture redemption reservo, and taking in £115,738 carried forward from 1031 the accounts showed a credit balance of £281,274. After payment of the preferred dividend £129,274 was carried forward. The company had had to face a long succession of bad' trade. The depression continues and the outlook is uncertain, making the conversion of the resources a primary duty. Owing to trade conditions and the depreciation of the Australian pound the Australian passenger traffic has continued to suffer. The new tourist accommodation has proved popular. The cargo from Australia has reflected Australia’s great efforts to increase her exports but most of the outward space is empty, though there lias been some improvement recently.
