At the annual meeting of the Peninsular Shipping Company it was stated that after allowing £350,000 for depreciation of the fleet, £IIO,OOO for the debenture redemption reservo, and taking in £115,738 carried forward from 1031 the accounts showed a credit balance of £281,274. After payment of the preferred dividend £129,274 was carried forward. The company had had to face a long succession of bad' trade.
