AN IMPROVED DEMAND,

FAT STOCK AT WESTFIELD. (Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Wednesday. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Go., Ltd., reports: At Westfield beef was penned in less than average numbers. There was an improved demand, ox values increased from 5s to 10s per head. Extra choice ox beef sold to 18s per lOOib; choice and prime, 15s to 17s; secondary, 12s to 14s; prime young cows and heifer beef, 14s to 17s; secondary, 10s to 13s. Heavy prime steers brought from £6 to £6 15s; lighter, £5 -to £5 17s Gd; light, £4 to £4 17s 6d; unfinished and small, £2 to £3 15s; heavy prime young cows and heifers, £4 to £4 17s Gd; lighter, £3 to £3 17s Gd; light, £2 to £2 17s Gd; others, 20s to 37s 6d.

(Special to Times.) AUCKLANO, Wednesday. ‘Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, Auckland report: At our weekly Westfield fat stock market held to-day, we yarded ox beef in full average numbers. There was an improved demand and values for all classes were firmer by Is -per 1001 b. Cow and heifer beef came forward in slightly under average numbers and with a good demand here again values were firmer. Extra choice ox sold to 18s per. 1001 b; choice and prime ox, lGs io 17s; secondary and plain ox, 14s to 15s; prime young cow and heifer beef, 15s to 1.75; : ordinary cow beef, 9s to 14s; heavy prime steers, £5 17s 6d to £G; lighter prime steers, £5 2s 6d to £5 15s; light prime steers, £4 2s 6d to £'s; small and unfinished steers, £2 to £4; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £4 7s Gd to £5; ‘heavy prime cows and heifers, £3 to £4 ss; lighter prime cows and heifers, £2 7s Gd to £3 2s 6d; other killable cows, £1 5s to £2 ss.
