NORTH LONDON EXHIBITION.
SIR THOMAS WILFORD’S ACTIVITY
LONDON, Oct. 18. With the help of the High Commissioner, Sir Thomas Wilford, New Zealand received particularly good publicity for her produce at the North London Exhibition at the Alexandra Palace from the visit of Prince George last Saturday afternoon. Sir Thomas had accepted an invitation from the Lord Lieutenant of the County and the exhibition management, to be present to receive the Prince, and although he only returned from Geneva the previous evening after a strenuous session, he was present and conducted His Royal Highness to the New Zealand exhibit, one of the features f the exhibition. At the stand the Prince and High Commissioner were photographed by an army of press photographers, and Prince George also accepted from Sir Thomas a box of New' Zealand apples and a case of honey. The result of this enterprise was the publictaion in a large section of the Sunday press, and again on the following Monday morning of photographs of the Prince and the New Zealand exhibit showing the butter, meat, apples and honey. Sir Thomas certainly gave up his Saturday afternoon’s rest to drive six miles to do this little service but it was worth it to New Zealand and her producers..
