ATTACK ON A GIRL.
ASSAULT WITH HAMMER
MAN CHARGED AT DUNEDIN,
ALLEGED ATTEMPTED MURDER
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Tuesday. In the Magistrate's Court Thomas Poison was charged with attempting to murder Rutli Eleanor Corlet on November 14, also with attempting to commit suitcide on the same date. lie was remanded, till December 9. The police stated that the girl, who is aged 19 years, is still seriously ill in hospital. She sustained a broken left arm and scalp wounds when, it is alleged, she was attacked by Poison with a hammer in her room at a boarding-house. Poison was later admitted to the hospital with a wound in the throat.
