AN OLD IRISH SPINNING WHEEL. —Demonstration of an Irish spinning wheel by Miss J. Spencer at the Women's Handicraft Exhibition. The wheel is said to-be between 600 and 700 years old, the spinning being done by a spindle weighted by-a small stick. This type of spindle dates hack to remote ages.
