ROTARIANS CONFER.

HALF-YEARLY FORUM. GATHERING AT SPRINGS. Rotarlans from Auckland, Hamilton, and Rotorua gathered at Okoroire Hot Springs during the week-end to attend the Auckland Club’s half-yearly forum. There were nearly 70 Rotarlans and their wives present at the gathering, including a party of sixteen from Hamilton, and a verj enjoyable time was spent. On Friday night there was a lengthy discussion on the problem of unemployment, in which Mr ■E, Earle Vailc, of Rotorua, took the leading part. Roys’ work, and the part played Jby Rotary in this direction, was considered on Saturday morning, and after considering the position (lie meeting concluded that Rotary was doing effective work, but it was thought that there were other avenues which could he explored. Tennis, bowling and swimming occupied Saturday afternoon, and in the evening a concert programme, ar- , ranged by the Hamilton party, was staged, and proved to be one of the best features of the week-end. Songs were given by Mrs G. Boyes, while Mrs C. Linder recited, and Mr and Mrs G. L. Mac Diarmid entertained with a short sketch, entitled “A Night Out." Mr James Treloar recounted a short story, and later gave an absorbing talk on the romantic development of steam, an address which held tho interest of Hie audience from beginning to end. At the conclusion of the concert, Rotarlans T. U. Wells and Sir George Fowids, of Auckland, thanked the Hamilton party for their entertainment, and expressed the appreciation of the audience. The Hamilton party returned to Hamilton on Saturday night, and the Auckland Rotarlans left for home last eight.
