WORLD’S CHAMPION CRASHES.
SUFFERS SLIGHT CONCUSSION. AUCKLAND, Monday. The world's champion cinder-track rider, Eric Langton, aged 25, of England. suffered slight concussion in a crash at the first broadsiding meeting of the season at Western Springs Speedway on Saturday. His condition las! evening was not. serious. The crash occurred during an exhibition ride by four of the visiting broadsiders, Langton, W. Phillips, Stevenson and Erie Gregory, were travelling at high speed and were close together, when Langton’s ■machine was seen to leap in the air ami turn over several times. The bursting of Ihe front lyre was Die cause nf the accident. The rider was thrown headlong on
the cinders. With the motor still racing, Hie machine continued down the track, and at one stage struck Langton, who was rolling along the cinders ahead of his mount. Rider and machine slid half the length of the straight before coming to rest against the safety fence.
