CAMBRIDGE BEATS TAUPIRI. Playing at Taupiri on Saturday Cambridge defeated Taupiri by 9 sets to 5, two matches being interrupted by rain. Following were the results, Taupiri names being mentioned Erst: Men’s Singles. —R. Miller lost to D. Clow, J—9; T tike re lost to Hollis, 7—9; Wilson lost to Howarlh, 6—9; Hill defeated Easier, 9—3. Ladies’ Singles.—Miss Waring defeated Mrs Clayton, 6 —3; Miss N. Wilson lost to Miss Crowlhcr, 5 —6; Mrs Jaekways lost to Miss Savage, 2—6; Miss P. Wilson lost to Miss Howarlh, 3—6. Men’s Doubles.—Miller and Tukcre lost to Clow and Hollis, 2—9; Hill and Wilson defeated Howarlh and Easter, 9—7. Ladies’ Doubles. —Miss Waring and Mrs Jaekways lost to .Mrs Clayton and .Miss Crowlhcr, 6 —7; Misses N. Wilson and P. Wilson defeated Misses Howarlh and Savage, 7 —l. Combined Doubles. MATAMATA v. HINUERA
In the Waikato East Association’s competition, Matamata No. 2 beat Hinucra No. 2 by 12 sets to 7 and 131 games to 105 games. At Hinucra the home No. 1 team heat Matamata No. 1, by 10 'sets to 9.
