Mr Justice Herdman left Hamilton for Auckland last evening with his associate, Mr G. Herdman.
Mr G. S. Reid, has resigned from the position of architect to St. Peter’s Cathedral Chapter.
Mr W. A. Curtels, headmaster of Hamilton East School, left for Hawera yesterday.
Mr. R. G. Milligan is to be appointed Auckland director and attorney of the Waihi Gold Mining Company, Ltd., in place of the late Mr. Charles Rhodes.
General Sir A. Montgomery-Mass-ingbred has been appointed to succeed Field-Marshal Sir George F. Milne as Chief of the Imperial General Staff.
The New Zealand Gazette states that Lieutenant J. W. Barry, N.Z. Staff Corps, has been appointed Ofilcer-in-Charge, Waikato Camp, Ngaruawahia, and retains the appointment of Ordnance Officer, Northern Command.
Lord Salvosen, who for the past ten years has been a member of tne Privy Council, arrived at Wellington by the Uangitane on Wednesday afternoon. He, is,the guest of His Excellency the Governor-General, Lord Beldisloe, at Government House.
N. K. Lamport, of Sydney, captain of the Oxford University Rugby team, is suffering from a poisoned knee, and he may not he able to appear in the annual match against Cambridge on December f>. Meanwhile, P. C. Minns, of Auckland, is leading the Oxford fifteen.
The Rev. w. H. Baddeley, bishopelect of Melanesia and formerly vicar of Sowlhbank. Yorkshire, will arrive in Auckland by the R.M.S. Aorangi on Monday. lie wilt bo consecrated in Auckland on Wednesday. The consecration will lie performed by Archbishop Avcrill. who will he attended by all the archdeacons in the Auckland diocese, while Bishop WestWatson, of Clirislchurcli. Bishop Williams of Waiapu, and Bishop. Clierrington, of Waikato, will bo present.
