ADDINGTON MARKETS. LAMB PRICES EASIER. A heavy southerly storm caused slightly smaller entries at the weeklymarket at Addington. Features of the market were an easing in lamb prices ahd a slight advance in mutton prices. Only four pens of store sheep were entered. There was a yarding of 873 fat lambs of good quality. Top price for the market was 18s 4d and the average price per lb, 5d to sid. Fat Sheep.—An entry of 3900, which was not sufficient for requirements. Values advanced IS a head for all classes. Values were: Extra prime heaVy wethers, to 19s lOd; prime heavy, 15s 6d to 17s; medium weight prime, 14s to 15s; ordinary, 12s 6d to 13s 6d; light, 10s do 12s; extra prime heavy Cwes, to 176 4d; prime heavy, 13s 6d to 15s; prime medium weight, lls 6d to 13s; ordinary, 9s 6d to lls; light, 7s to 9s; extra prime shorn wethers, to 16s 7d; extra prime shorn ewes, to 14s 6d. Fat Cattle.—An entry of 430 head, including large consignments from the North Island, Otago and Southland. The entry constituted a slight oversUppiy. Values for steers were on a par with late rates, while cows and heifers were inclined to be easier. A line of 49 steers from Palmerston North averaged £lO 3s 2d. Best beef made to 2os. per 10'Olb; good prime 2is to 245; Heavy, 18s 6d to 21s; secondary, 15s to 18s; inferior, to 14s. Values were: Extra prime heavy steers, to £ll 7s 6d; prime heavy, £8 to £10; prime medium weight, £6 15s to £8 10s; ordinary quality, £4 15s to £'6 ss; light, £3 5s to £4 10s; extra prime heifers, to £9 12s 6d; prime, £6 to £7 15s; medium, £4 10s to £5 15s; light, £2 15s to £4; extra prime cows, to £9 2s 6d; prime, £5 to £7; medium, £3 19s to £4 iOs; light and ihferior, £2 5s to £3 bs. Fat Pigs.—There was a medium entry. Demand for baconers was slightly better. Pork was in oversupply.
