RIVER SKIPPER KILLED CHAIN OF WINCH SNAP*. LOADINO LOGS ON TO BARGE, A s'ad fatality occurred near thi Narrows, half-way between Hamilton and Cambridge, shortly before noon to-day, when, Leslie Gordon, aged 38 years, of Mercer, skipper employed by the Rooso Shipping Company, sustained fatal injuries while .loading poplar logs on to a barge on the Waikato river. The heavy chain of the loading winch snapped, deceased sustaining a crushing blow, below the chest.
