OBITUARY.

MR F. W. WAKE. MEMBER OF LEGAL PROFESSION. AUCKLAND, Thursday. Mr Frederick William Wake, of Remuera, a well-known member of the legal profession, who had resided In Auckland for 19 years, died yesterday. The late Mr Wake was born In Australia 70 years ago and when- a child was brought to New Zealand by his parents. He practised as a barrister and solicitor for some time in Stratford, coming to Auckland in 1913. He was for some years a member of the firm of Wake and Anderson, but retired from active practice several years ago. Deceased was a member of the Auckland and Tltlrangi Golf Clubs, and the Auckland and Remuera bowling clubs. He was for some time a trustee of the Jubilee Institute for the Blind, but resigned owing to illhealth. He was a member of the Auckland Club. ' The late Air Wake was a widower and is survived by one son, Mr C. .Barry Wake, of the legal firm, of Tompkins and Wake, Hamilton, and one daughter, Mrs D. Poison, of Auckland. MR. PATRICK MARTIN. AUCKLAND, Thursday. The death has occurred at Runotman of Mr. Patrick Martin, In his 91st year. 1 Mr. Martin arrived in New Zealand about 86 years ago. He leaves a wife, two sons (including Mr. W. Martin, of Putaruru), and five daughters. MR. CHARLES BONNER. CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. Born on an immigrant ship as it entered the Manukau Harbour in 1849, Mr. Charles Bonner, aged 83 years, died this week.* - MR. ANDREW GUY. PALMERSTON NORTH, Thursday. The death ocurrcd suddenly this morning of Mr. Andrew Guy, aged 66, a well-known citizen. lie was formerly a member for some years of the City Council and oilier local bodies. MR. JOHN MURPHY. WELLINGTON. Thursday. The death has occurred of Mr. John Murphy, aged 77, a well-known ironfounder.
