HAMILTON OOLPERB. SUCCESS IN MANAWATU. Two Hamilton golfers, 3. H. darken and J. W. Jones, put up most Creditable performances at the ManaWatu (Championships (played '(on the Hokowhitu links. They annexed the medal handicaps under most trying Cllmatio conditions, and both players' handicaps were reduced. There were 100 competitors at the tournament, all low markers, and darken was just beaten in the senior grade. Both men played excellent golf. HUTT CLUB’S TOURNAMENT. COURSE RECORD BROKEN. BY J. BLACK, OF HAMILTON. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. J. L. Black, of Hamilton broke the course record ahd headed the list in the two qualifying rounds 'for the Winter Cup competition, now proceeding a't the Hutt Golf Club’s annual tournament. His rounds were 70 —78, total 148. H. A. Black, of Miramar, 79—72, 151 was second; Sime (Westport), §o—7B, fifth; V-. G. Ffyer, 164, ahd H. E. Troutbeck 165 (both of napler), seventh and eighth. The previous course record Was 72.
