ATHLETIC GYMKHANA.

SPORTS At STEELE PARK. BIG MEETING TO-MORROW. AN ATTRACTIVE PROGRAMME. Indications of a revival of Interest in the sports of riinhlrig and cycling In this district are provided in the .excellent entries for the HamlitOn Athletic Club's- gymkhana at Steele Park to-morrow afternoon. Besides many local competitors, athletes from Auckland and other oentres are engaged In the big programme of running and cycling. It is some years now since a meeting on such a big scale has been held in Hamilton, and the interest which is being shown in it by public and competitors augurs well, for its success. All that Is now needed Is a fine day. The programme includes track racing over all distances up to three miles, with several events for women and girls, as well as an Inter-house girls relay There will also be cycling races. A demonstration of wrestling bolds, to be foUo\ved by two bouts, Will be given by W. Bayne and P. Hill, of Te Awamutu, and W. Shattock, of Hamilton. This will take place at 3 p.m. The sports are to commence at 2 p.m. sharp. Music is being supplied by the Waikato neglmeiitai and Hamilton Municipal Band. The gymkhana is for a worthy cause, as sixty per cent of the takings are to be devoted to the Waikato Children’s Camp League. Features Will he demonstrations of first aid by the St. John Ambulance Brigade, and massed drill and gymnastic stunts by members of the Hamilton Y.M.G.A. physical culture classes.
