MATAMATA STOCK BALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report that at their Matamata stock sale the usual heavy yarding of cattle oame forward. Beef was yarded in good numbers and sold at late rates. A heavy entry of store cattle was penned, comprising mostly yearling heifers,"which found a ready sale, while choice quality were keenly sought after. A few pens of steers sold at late rates. Store and boner cows remained at unchanged values. There was a good yarding of bulls with yearling pedigrees in good demand. A good yarding of hoggets sold at late rates. A heavy yarding of all classes of pigs came forward, there being an extra good yarding of prime quality bacon pigs. Competition was good for all sorts and prices remained firm at values equal to Frankton rates. Quotations: Pigs.—Choppers, £i 4s to £1 12s; prime heavy* baooners, £2 3s to £2 6s; other heavy baconers, 39s to £2 2s; medium baconers, 36s to £2; light baconers, 32s to 355; heavy porkers, 27s to 30s; light porkers, 23s 6d to 265; stores, 20s to 235; slips, 15s 6d to 18s 6d; weaners, 11s to 14s 6d; smaller weaners, 7s 6d to 10s; Tamworth sows in pig, £3 7s 6d to £3 10s. Dairy Cattle. —Best Jersey heifers, close to profit, £5 5s to £8; other Jersey heifers, £3 to £4 15s; Friesian heifers, close to profit, £4 to £5; Jersey cows in milk, £4 to £5 ss; Jersey cows close to profit, £5 to £6 10s.
