WONDERFUL X-RAY RECORD. BUT IS IN BAD WAY. The annual report on the X-ray department of Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, reveals that 14,585 patients were treated, necessitating 33.202 exposures, for the past year. Revenue from patients amounted to £2152 19s (id. Expenditure was £4 48(5 18s 2d, so that the department suffered a loss of £2333 ISs Bd. This large loss from only one of the hospital departments, indicates a tremendous loss throughout, although 200 beds were closed months ago, in an effort to curtail expenses. Never in the history of tills grand Institution, started 50 years ago, has It passed through such difficult times. Urgent Money Need. Money is wanted urgently to alleviate the sufferings of hundreds of unfortunate beings, Imploring for admission, The closing of the 200 beds was compelled by lack of funds, and caused the waiting list to lengthen rapidly. Of the thousands of patients attended to during the year 7 5 per cent, were ouf-palieiUs. Many were unable to pay anything for the treatment.
