OLD MAN ROBBED.
LABOURER SENT TO PRISON. LOOKED UPON AS A MENACE. \ WELLINGTON, Wednesday. “We look upon this man as a very bad thief. As a matter of fact we look upon him as a menace,” said Detective Sergeant Revell, when David McEwan (42), labourer, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate's Court to stealing a Kruger sovereign from an elderly man who was wearing it on his watch chain In a hotel on September 20. A sentence of three months' imprisonment was imposed.
