TE AROHA ORPHANS.
LADIES’ NIGHT. CLOBE OF THE SEASON. The Te Aroha Orphans’ Club concluded 11s 1932 season with a Ladles’ Night, for which special arrangements had been made. The visiting clubs were Morrinsvllle and Cambridge. Bro. G. Gilchrist (president) extended a hearty welcome to the visitors. _ The programme was opened with a selection by the orchestra, and during the evening musical items were rendered by Bros. Moore ('cello), L. Flatt (violin); entertaining stories by Bro. Wooldridge (Cambridge) ; recitations by Bros. Newsome (Te Aroha), Wood (Morrinsville); vocal contributions by Bros. Echlin . (Morrinsvllle), (Boyce (Cambridge), Strinfffellow '(Morrinsvllle), and W. Revell (Te Aroha). ' ’ , Community singing, led by Bro. Revell, was entered into with vim. A feature of the evening’s entertainment was a ventrlloquial turn by Rev. G. W. Turner and "Claude.’’ During an Interval the president presented Bro. A. H. Marglson with a life member's badge. The recipient w'as heartily cheered. After the supper'adjournment Bro. G. Gilchrist spoke on the club’s motto: "Begone dull care; let friendship reign.” An Interesting address on “Orphandom," by Bro. Wooldridge, w'as received with appreciation, and Bro. J. Caulfield returned thanks on behalf of the Morrinsvllle Orphans’ Club.
