DESPICABLE CRIME.
OLD AGE PENSIONER ASSAULTED, DUNEDIN, Saturday. Langford McConnell, aged 86, an old age pensioner residing in a lano off King Street was found wandering in George Street at 8 o’clock this morning suffering from wounds to his head and eyes. He slated that his hut was broken into last night by men who assaulted and robbed him of £l3. He had wandered out for help at day light. His injuries are not considered serious except in conjunction with hia age.
