GUIDE CONCERT.

FRANKTON COMPANY. A most successful concert under the direction of Mrs Ward, president of the First Frankton Girl Guide Committee, was given In the Scout Hall, King Street, by Frankton Guides and Brownies, assisted by local artists. The hall was crowded, a number being unable to find seats. The programme opened with ‘‘The Flag Song,” by the Guides, followed by “The Brownies’ Ring" (Brownies). Then came a charming little one-a-ct play entitled, “The Witches’ Parlour," the four Brownies taking part in it being Nancy Potts, Rona Tombs, Hilda Bray and Marcia Farrell. “Alice Blue Gown” (In costume), by six Guides, proved a popular Item and had to be repeated. A most amusing one-act play entitled “Slightly Mixed" was well aoted, and caused much amusement. The parts were taken by five Guides, namely; Velma Collins, Joyce Swain, Eileen Gore, Blrna Farrell and Iris Choat.

“Changing Guard at Buckingham Palace," given in costume by the Brownies, was much enjoyed and they were recalled. A “Camp Fire Scene" by Guides brought to a close the first part of the programme. The following ladles and gentlemen contributed a most enjoyable second part of the programme, all being encored :—Miss Gibson, Mr Absolum, Miss Sver, Mr Williams, Miss Purdom, Mrs Cobourne, Mr. Palmer and Miss Hamilton. Mrs Absolum rendered a pianoforte solo, and also very kindly acted as accompanist.
