PLUNKET SOCIETY.
WORK AT WINER SHOW. The Plunket rest-room -at the Waikato Winter Show was of great benefit to the mothers, babies, and elderly women who rested there. Three members of the Plunket committee were on duty in the mornings and evenings of the Show. Gas, which cost 3s, was provided free for the heating of meals tor babies. Many babies and toddlers were cared for for several hours at a Lime. The number of babies helped was 102, and a similar number of toddlers was cared for. The Plunket Society carries out this work each year to provide much needed help for mothers, and also to help the funds of the Society, which are much depleted this year. The amount placed in the collection box on the table at the Show totalled 2s Bd. It is to be regretted that the Society did not receive better recognition for its splendid work.
