Herriot now Will be compelled to form a Cabinet principally of Radicals. It is not expected that the Socialists will vote against it at present, as the importance of a united front at the Lausanne Conference is recognised. When the new Chamber assembled the front benches were empty, M. Tardieu, ex-Premier, and his colleagues resuming their places as ordinary members. The proceedings were formal apart from tributes to the late M. Doumer.
