FREAK CYCLING.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Is there no by-law In Kamil- j ton enacting that a push-cyclist shall conduct himself with decorum? It is frequently possible in Victoria Street to see “ flash ” youths pedalling their way with arms crossed and even rolling cigarettes, paying little attention | to the traffic. It may be a sign of •: dexterity, but it certainly does not betoken either good breeding or oon- , sideratdon for the safety of others, for it is courting danger, if not dis- j aster. The trouble is that' it is not j the “ flash ” rider who suffers gener- ( ally but the innocent wayfarer. In Canberra a few weeks ago a young lady was knocked down by one of these public entertainers and sustained a fractured skull, and if the evil is permitted to continue and grow in Hamilton we probably will have to bemoan similar occurrences here. It Is time action was taken to nip the evil in the bud- —I am, etc., SAFETY FIRST.
