Mellon (United States Ambassador) was the guest of honour, Lord Grey said: “We believe if there were co-operation between Hie United States and Britain, if we two were to puli together, it would help the rest of the world to pull together. I wish the time may come when the United States and Britain may co-operate in diagnosing the universal cause of the evil which is affecting the world and grappling with it internationally.”
