THE AUCKLAND MARKETS. BETTER DEMAND FOR BANKS. (By Telegraph—Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Thursday. At the fresh bidding there was a slightly improved demand for bank shares. Commercials improved, with buyers at 13s td, holders asking 3d more. New South Wales were wanted at £24 15s. Sellers of English and Scottish raised their limits to £4 3s 6d. New Zealands were on offer at £2 3s. P. and 0. stock was easier, with a seller at 17s. Farmers's Trading ordinary shares \ were on offer at 5?., while the best bidders stopped at 3s 6d. Preference shares were quoted, ex div. Buyers offered 7s for B's, with holders standing out for 9s Gd. Wilson’s Cements were a shade easier, heing still on sale at £1 7s. Grand Junctions were quoted, ex dlv., with buyers at 2s 9d. Insurances were firm at late rate. SALES RECORDED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.} AUCKLAND, Thursday. Inscribed Stock, 5j per cent., 1 933, £9B ids; 5J per cent., 1937, £9S.
