RELIEF WORKERS.
REGISTRATIONS NUMBER 52,451. AN INCREASE OF 934. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. A further increase in tlie number of registered unemployed is recorded hy the figures for New Zealand for the week ended May 10. The total number of registrations for the period was 52,45.1, compared willi 51,517 for the previous week, on increase of 934.
The registrations include 37,920 men who are engaged in part-time work 011 No. D scheme, and 14,531 men unplaced or standing down.
Dominion registrations for the past five weeks have increased as follows: —April 18, 47,530; April 25, 48,001; May 2, 50,093; May 9, 51,517; May IG, 52,-451.
MORRSNSVILLE DEPOT. A relief depot lias 'been opened by tlie Morrinsviilo Relief Committee for the purpose of receiving parcels of clothing, bools and vegetables. Numerous offers of c-altie and sheep have been made by• Kiwitahi settlers, and it. was confidently anticipated that the district will have a long list of contributions lo send in to the committee.
