The News Chronicle, claiming to reveal exclusively ihe truth about the negotiations of the Maryleboue Cricket Club with the Australian Board of Cricket Control for a New Zealand tour by the English team to visit Australia in 1932, says the board strongly objected to the proposed extension of the tour to New Zealand. “ Tiie board considered that New Zealand should make her own arrangements," says the Chronicle. *' New Zealand sent a representative to Australia, where he was most rudely received, the board giving him only a few minutes in which to stale hi?, case and informing him Its decision had been already made and that he could read its statement in the newspapers.

“In the meanwhile the English counties decided that the original request of the M.C.C. should not be altered, the Australian board being politoly informed that If it could not agree there might be some question of can'celling -the tour. Subsequently, the hoard saw its mistake. “ The fact that the' M.C.C. will be able to fulfil its programme for Australia and New Zealand is regarded as a triumph for its lact and diplomacy." SYDNEY, May 20.

The only member of the Australian Board of Cricket Control Sydney, Mr R. A. Oxlade, was questioned this evening about the alleged rudeness to New Zealand’s representative. He declined to comment, saying that any statement in regard to the negotiations with New Zealand must come from the chairman of the board, Dr. Robertson, of Melbourne.
