PLAN OF RE-ORGANISATION. THE, ANNUAL MEETING. MR J. R. FOW PRESIDENT. The annual meeting of the South Auckland Area of the New Zealand Alliance was held at Rotorua. Representatives from many parts of the area were present and the Yen. Archdeacon F. W. Chattcrton. occupied the chair. A complete plan of re-organisation was agreed upon and an educational programme adopted. A resolution was passed calling the attention of the Government to the uneconomic nature of expenditure on alcoholic drinks, with its diversion of purchasing power from useful commodities, and urging such revision of tho tariff as would place New Zealand in line with England in respect to taxation of beer and spirits. it was decided to take slops to celebrate tho centenary of the "Seven Men of Preston" who inaugurated the total abslenanc-e movement in England in September, 1832.
