SEQUEL TO RIOTS.
PROSECUTIONS IN WELLINGTON. SEVERAL MEN PUNISHED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. In connection with the recent disturbances in the city, Ernest Walter Dudley (32), plumber, for inciting lawlessness, was convicted and ordered to come up sentence if called upon within 12 moulds, conditional on entering into a bond of £SO to be of good behaviour. George Alexander Robert Irving (32), was similarly charged, and was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. His offence was committed at Parliament House gates. Fred Alex Corby (28), seaman, for obstructing a constable, was fined £3 in default seven days’ imprisonment. The scuffle had nothing to do with the disturbance, but occurred while the disturbance was on and was said by the police to be dangerous in the circumstances.
