CANADIAN LEGISLATION. TO MEET FINANCIAL CRISIS. EFFECT BY PROCLAMATION. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received May 20, 9.30 a.m.) OTTAWA, May 19. The Canadian Parliament may be asked to pass a Bill authorising the Government to take the necessary steps to meet a financial crisis should one develop on this continent. Mr R. B. Bennett (the Federal Prime Minister) indicated that tlie Government is considering such a measure. It would be provided that any such legislation should come into effect only upon a proclamation being issued.
