DINNER FOR CHILDREN.
ASSISTING RELIEF WORKERS. CAMP LEAGUE SCHEME. Much has been done in Hamilton towards relieving distress brought about by unemployment, but there are avenues of assistance which are as yet unexplored. Most of the relief mesures in Hamilton and other towns principally concern the provision of necessities for those in need. A new scheme has been evolved toy the Waikato Children’s Camp League which will not only assist the families of the unemployed, but will bring a little pleasure into the lives of their children. The idea is to ask families in Hamilton and the surrounding districts to take two -or three children each Saturday or Sunday during the winter months, and provide them with mid-day dinner. There are doubtless many families who could render this service without any difficulty, and the League j has already received a number of offers of assistance. The scheme will be known as the Children’s Guest Club. The suggestion appeals to everyone as a service to the community. Arrangements have not yet been made final, hut Mrs H. C. Ross and Mr W. 11. Paul will be pleased to receive the names of those who would toe prepared ’to entertain two or three children at dinner each Saturday or Sunday during the winter.
