UNEMPLOYED WOMEN
POSITION IN HAMILTON. REGISTRY TO BE ESTABLISHED. LOCAL COMMITTEE SET UP. The position of unemployed women and girls In Hamilton was discussed at a conference to-day between representatives of local women’s movements and relief organisations, and the advisory committee of ladies appointed by the Unemployment Board, The Mayoress of Hamilton, Mrs F. D. Pinfold, presided, and introduced the advisory committee, Mrs Marshall Macdonald,’of Dunedin, Miss B. Carnaohan, of Auckland, and Mr J. Brennan, of Wellington. The meeting discussed the question of relief measures for unemployed women and girls, and it was decided to establish a registry in Hamilton, where those desiring work toould record their names.
'The delegates present at the meeting constituted themselves a committee to further the scheme, and with this object in view a further meeting is to be held next Tuesday morning.
