WOMEN’S INSTITUTE. Mrs A. \V. Johnson presided over a large attendance at the monthly meeting of the Waitoa branch of the Women’s Institute. It was resolved that members meet, on May 24 to make deooratlons for the Institute stall at ■the Waikato Winter Show. An Interesting demonstration of sealing-wax deeorating was given by Mlss Gladys Johnson. Mrs Eastwood was awarded first prize for the most useful article made from a sugar-bag, her exhibit being a hearth-rug. Community singing was indulged in during the afternoon. The hostesses were Mesdames W. S. K. Mills, W. Cook, Forster, 11. Ilight, K. Eight, A. Sou ter and W. Walker. PLUNKET SOCIETY BENEFIT. A meeting of the Plunkct Society was held to arrange for a concert by the Commercial Travellers. Mrs F. W. Wild presided, and Messrs 11. Watts and L. Wilkinson, representing the Commercial Travellers and Messrs Oscar Jones and E. Y. Fitzpatrick, excommercial travellers, attended. Alter full particulars had been given it was decided to hold a concert on July 22. The following were appointed a men's committee: Messrs J. A. Hepburn, A. O. Jones, 0. H. Jones. J. 11. Johnson, E. V. Fitzpatrick, L. E. Flalt and W. Williams.
