1 PRISONERS SENTENCED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. At the Supreme Court this morning the following prisoners were sentenced : Edward John Watson (29), forgery and attempted uttering and theft, six months’ on each charge, to be concurrent; Charles Henry Freeman (30), attempted unlawful carnal knowledge at Dannevirke, three years’ hard labour; Edward Roy Hawkey (30), indecent assault on a child, two years’ hard labour; John Rupert Lawrence and Thomas Patrick Cuttle, jointly charged with theft, six months’ hard labour; Kenneth Joseph 'Payne, breaking and entering with intent and breaking, entering and theft, two years’ probation, and to pay costs and repay £2; William Alexander Crossan, breaking, entering and theft, being found by night in possession of house-breaking instruments, and escaping from custody, two years’ hard labour; Thomas Leslie Alexander, breach of probation, two years' hard labour, con’current -with present term; William Simonds (48), breaking, entering and theft, two years’ probation; George Richard Seddon Gray, theft, two years’ probation on condition that £2l Lss was repaid, also £1 Is costs; Thomas Leslie Alexander (23), breach of probation, two years’ hard labour, concurrent with present term; Horace John Anderson, theft, at New Plymouth, two years’ hard labour, concurrent on each of two charges.
