ARGENTINA’S INTERESTS. United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright. BUENOS AIRES, May 17. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Lamas, stated to-day that reports were being circulated abroad to the effect that Argentina was lo send an observer to the Empire Economic Conference at Ottawa. These were baseless. Argentina had never thought to interfere in private deliberations within the British Empire.

Poison. M.P.. president of Hie union, said preferences with quotas would he of great value In the Dominions and would have the effect of stimulaling primary production in this country. Without quotas, it would simply mean that foreigners would accept less.
